OU Sooners

Unfortunately, for me, the OU Sooners are very known in our household thanks to Kevin and just thought I'd say that this year, if they lose their bowl game today....it's not my fault! Haha! They're losing right now to Stanford in the Sun Bowl. Last year, well, this WHOLE past year, Kevin blamed me for the Sooners losing the National Title game after I turned off the lights to the OU Christmas tree we have before the game ended. This year he told me I can't turn the lights off....heck...I even turned the lights on for him and his team is still losing right now! So if they lose this game....I'm documenting that it's not my fault!

Jack's First Time in the Snow

Jack cracks me up when he looks outside and says, "Mommy....look at all the no!" Of course he's saying "snow" but it's so cute the way he says it. Well anyway, he got to walk through some snow this morning on our trip through the Walmart parking lot and he was fascinated with the stuff, so I decided that I need to let him out in the backyard to play in the 'no. So I bundled him up and then we went outside. He wasn't too sure about it at first since he kept falling down and couldn't get back up, but he figured out that he had to take tall steps and go slow and he'd stay on his feet! He loved it! The snow is pretty powdery so it didn't make good snow balls, b/c I wan't to make a snow man, but it just didn't pack very well. The only bad thing is that his mittens kept coming off. They're a little too big for him and on our way inside, he lost his shoe. We really need to get some snow boots for him!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

We've had a wonderful Christmas here in Leavenworth. It's been very relaxing and just nice. It was just the 3 of us, which I really missed being with our families, but this was just a nice quiet Christmas at home. We got 8 inches of snow last night and so we've been enjoying the "White Christmas!" Jack got lots of great presents and has been busy playing with his new toys all day! We had a big ham dinner and have been munching on fudge and cookies all day. Kevin took us out driving in the snow to go look at Christmas lights and that was very nice!

Our snow on the porch when I opened the back door this morning!

Need to Update this Blog!

I am very sorry that I've not updated this or anything for a few months! EEK! It's Christmas morning here and my boys are still sleeping....it's 9:30 am! I've been up for a little while now and am just waiting for Kevin and Jack to wake up so we can open presents! We took Jack with us last night to the catholic church because we had to play in a brass ensemble for midnight mass. Jack sat with us up in the balcony and he did very well! He was rocking out while we played "Go Tell it on the Mountain" and "Carol of the Bells." It was funny! I'm going to post a few pictures from this month and then I'm going to be better at keeping up this coming new year!

Big Shot Behind the Wheel!

Watch out! Here comes Jack behind the wheel! I was cleaning out the car and he was playing around and climbed up into the front seat of the car and was having much fun "driving" and trying to beep the horn and push as many buttons/knobs as he could! It was cute!

Fun with Shaving Cream and Mousse

We were looking for something fun to do the other afternoon so I put down some wax paper on Jack's table and let him play around with some shaving cream and mousse. It was a great success and he loved it!

A Play-by-Play with Playdough

This was Jack's 2nd time playing with playdough. I got this for him for his b-day and when we got it out last week, he only wanted to eat it!! This time, he actually didn't try to eat it and he played really well with it! Here's a play-by-play of his first time "playing" with playdough!! haha!

Getting out one color first:

Then he wanted blue, not yellow, but blue!

Next, I made him a cat with the blue while he played with the white:

He really liked picking little pieces off the white:

Then I guess he decided that my cat was a cow and it needed some decorations which he worked very hard at putting on the "cow!"

And Voila! You have our new cow/cat with white chunks sculpture!

I think we'll be getting this stuff out again soon! It was fun!

The First Fall Evening of 2009

Yesterday was the first official day of Fall! The temps dropped yesterday and it was a perfect fall day! We spent the evening playing out in the yard and it made me so happy since this is my favorite season! I just love it! Jack enjoyed taking his milk outside and dunking his cookie in it out on the porch then just playing around with Boomer.

Notice his Oreo cookie beard!

Boomer sprawled out and so did Jack, right next to her!
