I can finally announce this!!

We're pregnant!!!! And it's sticking this time!! I had to wait and wait to announce this b/c we hadn't told our parents yet, but now it's out there!! About a month ago, we got a nice dark, surprise BFP! We were shocked b/c we were NOT trying. We weren't thinking about it, we weren't talking about it, nothing. We were pretty much done with the idea after that last miscarriage. But the Friday right before Father's Day, I woke up from this crazy dream and just had a weird feeling. In my dream, I had taken a pregnancy test and it was blazing positive. Well, when I woke up, I realized, that I should just do a test for the heck of it. I had a left-over internet cheapie that I hadn't used so I used it and holy cow, a line showed up. So I immediately went out and got a FRER test, without telling Kevin, and took it and it was very positive! I was shocked!! So I took a picture of it and sent it to Kevin and asked, "How did this happen??!" When he finally checked his phone, he couldn't believe it!

So, I progressively tested every few days and got what never happened with any of the miscarriages. I got darker lines each time, so I had a great feeling!! Got my hcg tested and progesterone tested and everything was checking out just fine! So here we are....8 wks along!! Yesterday we saw the heartbeat on ultrasound and we thrilled!

Clifford the Big Red Dog

On this past Saturday, I took Jack down to Crown Center in Kansas City to go see Clifford. Jack has been talking about doing this for months now, ever since he saw the advertisement on PBS Kids. So we finally got to go! He had a great time! There was a play room set-up with things from Clifford's show and there were lots of different stations and play houses to have fun in. Jack really had a great time. He especially liked the big dog food bowl with the bones. Then we had to wait in a long line to actually meet Clifford, but Jack did great! And he wasn't scared, like I thought he might be. He ran right up to him and gave him a big hug and high fives!

The "Frain Fracks" aka, train tracks!

Jack is in LOVE with trains and the train tracks, or as he says, "frain fracks!" We're working on that one! Haha!! In our town, Leavenworth, we've got this little park right alongside the Missouri river, called Leavenworth Landing that Jack and I really like to hang out at. And it just so happens to have train tracks that run right through....with a real crossing arm and real trains that come through. It's cool! I tried to get some pictures of him playing around down there!

Here's looking up the Missouri River to the bridge that connects KS/MO:

Fairwell to Howard-Wilson Elementary School

I haven't blogged for awhile, I guess....it's already the middle of June. We finished out the school year at Howard-Wilson Elementary and won't ever be going back. The school has closed its door as a school for good. Kevin had the most amazing music program for his kiddos ever! It was great! And very emotional, as that was the last ever one there. The program was May 20th and I was so proud of Kevin. What a great show he put together! I was really proud of my Howard-Wilson daycare kiddos that performed, as well. We had a really good year together and I will miss those kids that I won't see next year. But the show must go on.....just at a different building. Kevin was chosen to be the music teacher for our district's brand new school they're building and I was chosen to be the director of the afterschool daycare at the new school. Looking forward to seeing what the new building and new school will be like! Here's some pictures of the last music program ever at Howard-Wilson Elementary.

WeeWee for Wii

LOL!! This is Jack's reward for going on his potty. He gets some time to play on the Wii. Which of course he LOVES! It seems to be working pretty well. He also gets to pick out a sticker and put it on a chart that I've made up! The other day he got 6 stickers in one day! He has been consistently going now for 2 days in a row and today he even told me he needed to go! This is awesome!!!

Jack's New Favorite....

The Olympics!! Jack loves the Olympic fanfare and the music of the games. He has recently started trying to sing the tune of the fanfare and he wants to hear the song over and over.

This is Jack singing along with the music:

Valentine's Day!

We didn't do much for our Valentine's Day, but I fixed Jack some pink pancakes for breakfast, we all ate some chocolate, went to a great church service, then Kevin and I watched a movie. It was a nice day.

Here's the pink pancakes:

Christmas with Paulette and Mike!

Paulette and Mike came up this weekend and brought some more Christmas with them! It was fun! Jack got to open more presents and had a good time hanging out! Kevin got some new adult footed pajamas which I thought was hilarious and he loves them. Jack also got the nicest coat from his Uncle Casey and Aunt Kati. It is so nice and we're so thankful for all the wonderful gifts from our family. Mike treated us to lunch at Arthur Bryant's Barbeque in down town KC on Saturday. He saw it on the Food Network and wanted to try it out. The one in down town KC is the original and is not the best sit-down atmosphere, but the food is so yummy! It was very nice of him to treat us to that. It was also the coldest morning yet....-2 degrees out!! Yikes! It was so cold just going from the car to the restaurant! Here's some pictures of this weekend:
