Jack counted to 10 today!! It was so cool! It started by me saying "one," as in you better come to me by the time I get to three! I said, "One" (kinda long and drawn out) then he said "oo, ee, or, ive, ick," then I said "seven" and he said, "eh, eye," and I said, "ten!" I had to spell his numbers out they way they sounded coming out of his mouth, not perfect, but he's 18 months! It was darling! So we've been practicing all morning. Soon I will video it! I had no idea he could count like that! Awesome!

Dancing to American Idol
We have been watching American Idol for the past couple of seasons, but this year, Jack is actually old enough to dance to the music when they are performing. A few weeks back, we were watching and a pair from last year came out and danced/sang a duet....Jack was dancing too!
Through the Chair!
We inherited a dining room set from my Grandma Burton, including the table, chairs, hutch, etc., and one of the chairs hasn't been in very good shape for awhile now, well, it finally gave way when Jack was playing on it and this was the end result! I was in the other room and heard a crash and then Kevin told me to, "come see what your son has done," and usually when one parent refers to the child as "YOUR son/daughter" means something bad has happened! I went out and saw him and started laughing then went to grab the camera! It was funny! Poor Jack! I was laughing and he didn't know what to do!

6 is the number of....

.....months we've been trying for a brother or sister for Jack. I don't think a lot of people know we're trying, but here ya go! It's out there now! How was it so easy the first time around?? Oh yeah, we weren't really trying!! But seriously, I know it's up to the good Lord when we get pregnant, but it seems like it's taking forever. There are good things about not being pregnant, like not throwing up all day and not being so tired and still getting to drink my Diet Coke! I try to focus on that stuff when I realize it didn't happen in that month! So here we go...it's waiting time. I've got about a week to wait and see for month 6!

Ham or Fits?
When it comes to trying to get pictures of Jack these days, you either get a ham, or a fit. He either lets me take his picture, or he gets really mad if I don't let him play with the camera.
Here is the ham. Jack has developed this great new "pose" for when we take his picture! He kind of scruntches up his face and smiles.

And here is the fits. I never let him play with my camera, even though he wants to so badly. I don't want it to break, but notice his personality change! It starts off innocent and he does a, "I want that face," but then it goes into kind of a mad phase, then all out crying! So funny!

So what will you have, ham or fits?? I choose them both! I just love the little guy!

Cousins
I'm a little late posting this, but a few weekends ago, we took a trip to Aurora, MO to visit Papa and Grammy Burton's to visit with my sister, Carrie, and my niece, Amanda, Jack's aunt and cousin. The weather was sooooo nice the day we were there and we all went outside and the cousins were playing and having a great time. It was nice! Jack got to play with Trinnitty and Tyler, more cousins, too!

Christmas

Christmas was a lot of fun! Kevin and I had a brass gig on Christmas Eve, so instead of our usual travels to our parent's houses, we stayed at our house and they came to visit us! It was kinda nice! Grammy and Papa came first and stayed over Christmas Eve and then Grandma Paulie came a few days later. Kevin wanted his traditional Christmas dinner, so I made a ham and all the fixin's. It was very yummy! I now have a very fond appreciation for my mom and mother-in-law that have worked so hard preparing all the meals for us!! It was a lot of work! I also made my traditional popcorn mix that is soooooo tasty! Grammy made us some fudge and cookies and brought her fruitcake!
Jack did a good job opening up his presents. He would open one present and was pretty satisfied with that and wasn't too interested in opening any more, but he did! Santa brought him some new toys and a new stuffed monkey and some books. Grandma Paulie brought him a new rocking horse that he just loves and lots of other cool stuff!! Uncle Casey and Aunt Kati gave him a new wooden train set which is going to be so much fun! We had a really good time being with our families and just enjoying the break from school!
